Contadora Island
Posted by Mike | Under Contadora IslandContadora Island is located in the Panamanian Pacific Ocean and is one of the Pearl islands. It is 50 miles away from Panama City. Here you can find top quality restaurants, good hotels, and specialized stores where you can get equipment for scuba diving, snorkeling and sport fishing. There are 13 spectacular beaches surrounding the island. It is also possible to book excursions to neighboring islands. Most of these islands are unoccupied. It is quite easy to find a quite place to relax, enjoy the sun and sands and have a good time.

There are only a few lodgings inland. Although you can find hotels like Contadora Hotel and Punta Galeon Hotel, both hotels are near the airstrip. Contadora Hotel is a full spectrum resort. It offers many different activities for guests. It offers volleyball courts, night shows, tennis courts and non-motor water sports among its sponsored activities.
This is an excellent area for scuba diving or to practice snorkeling, especially at low tide. If you wish to watch birds, you can go to Pacheca Island, which is near Contadora. You can watch sharks and turtles at Playa Larga (Long Beach). A few recommended beaches for snorkeling or scuba diving are Playa Cacique, Playa Galeon and Playa Canoa. There is also a nude beach called Playa Sueca (Swedish beach).

There are coral reefs near the island. The surrounding areas are also suitable for sport fishing. Tours by boat are offered to areas near Contadora Island and other islands nearby.
