La Isla de Contadora se encuentra en el Archipiélago de las Perlas en el Océano Pacifico, a 50 millas de la Ciudad de Panamá. Podemos encontrar restaurantes de categoría y buenos hoteles, y tiendas donde se puede adquirir equipo para buceo y esnórkel, así como también para pesca deportiva. Existen 13 espectaculares playas que rodean la isla, y también están disponibles excursiones a islas que no están muy lejos de ahí, la mayoría de ellas están deshabitadas, por lo que es relativamente fácil encontrar un lugar tranquilo para disfrutar del sol y la arena y pasar un rato agradable.

On Contadora Island we can find two main hotels. These are the Punta Galeon Hotel and the Contadora Hotel.
Punta Galeon Hotel is located near the airstrip. It is surrounded by two spectacular white sand and crystal clear water beaches. Shallow waters near the resort make this area a very attractive place to go snorkeling or practice scuba diving. It is also a very safe area for children and people who cannot swim. There is a magnificent view from the hotel terraces. Punta Galeon facilities include two swimming pools, one of them is for children, and the other is for adults. There are two restaurants, one indoors and the other one outdoors.
The hotel also offers wide green areas where you can enjoy nature and tropical vegetation. The hotel has 48 rooms which feature a balcony with a hammock. From there you can appreciate the beauty and greatness of the sea. The facilities are very comfortable with air conditioning, mini bar, hot water and room service.
Contadora Hotel has 354 rooms. It has everything you need for a pleasant stay. There are different size and style rooms to meet everyone’s needs. All of them have their own private bathroom, mini bar and satellite TV. They all overlook the sea, swimming pools or the entertainment areas of the hotel. Contadora hotel offers additional services guests, like security boxes. There are restaurants, bars, tennis courts and an activities center.

Contadora Island is located in the Panamanian Pacific Ocean and is one of the Pearl islands. It is 50 miles away from Panama City. Here you can find top quality restaurants, good hotels, and specialized stores where you can get equipment for scuba diving, snorkeling and sport fishing. It is quite easy to find a quite place to relax, enjoy the sun and sands and have a good time.

The Hotel Punta Galeon is very compact. Its 48 rooms were built almost at treetop level on a rocky point of land, with a series of wraparound terraces that provide dazzling sea views. Yet, be aware, the Punta Galeon’s beach is very public. Not only do the planes fly overhead to land at the island airport, but this is also where the island’s ferry docks, picking up passengers right off the shore.
“The rooms at the Punta Galeon are small, simple and whitewashed, with built-in beds and bedside tables and cozy balconies attached. The bathrooms showers are attractive and clean, and the water takes only minutes (rather than days) to warm up. “On Contadora Island you’ll have a number of dining choices. The resorts such as the Punta Galeon and Villa Romantica have excellent food and incredible service. If its local flavor you’re looking for then Le Suiz, La Sagitoria, or Angelina’s all have good food at extremely reasonable prices,” said one traveler’s review. Do remember that the tap water is not safe to drink on Isla Contadora – most island residents won’t necessarily clue you in by offering or providing bottled water, because they can drink it safely.
Some visitors to Isla Contadora have become breathless from the multiple joys of a mealtime at Villa Romantica. One excited guest recorded: “The vista from its restaurant is breath-taking, we saw a humpback whale leaping out of the Pacific, while we were having our lunch at the restaurant.” “We liked the food, it was slightly expensive, but not too outrageous, lunch for 3 cost us $35, including the tip.
